Monks 5 - Garda 2 game is now online!


Video highlights of the Moyross Charity game in which the Monks beat the local Gardai by 5 goals to 2 in Shelbourne Park, Limerick, on May 14th, can now be seen on youtube (click here).

The Monks' stars included team captain Fr.Paulus Tautz, Moyross United soccer star Bobby Ryan, local solicitor John Devane, local rapper Jay Red, Munster Rugby star and local resident Keith Earls' dad Ger Earls.
Willie O'Dea TD led the Moyross team as Asst. Manager alongside Limerick FC Manager Pat Scully.

The game was held in aid of the Special Olympics Ireland & Irish Cancer Society

Over 2500 people attended the match. Close to the same number have now seen the video on youtube (click here).

Glasheen brothers help Moyross B to the final

Daniel and Michael Glasheen from Pineview Gardens were influential in yesterdays semi final victory. Moyross grabbed a late winner with a header from a corner scored by paddy haze. The two brothers played solid all game with Daniel showing heart up front and Michael solid at the back.


The two brothers have been long term Moyross United players and are happy to be finally getting real success. “Ya we are loving it, we have a great chance in the final”, said Michael.


The Moyross A team are not doing too bad either after reaching the semi-final of the Lawson cup last week with a dramatic win over Premier high fliers Jamesboro.

Local supporters were in a jubilant mood “We are Moyross and we are proud” said local man Jamie Daly.

The final of the league cup is to be played on the 2nd of May
